Mergulho de Sardinha Brasileiro: Aperitivo Rápido e Delicioso

Brazilian Sardine Dip Recipe

This sardine dip is a tasty appetizer that goes well with raw vegetable crudites or your favorite bread. It’s sure to be a hit with your guests!

Ingredients:

  • 1 3.5 ounces (100 grams) can of sardines, packed in oil, drained
  • 5.3 ounces (150 grams) of cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup of minced red onion
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • Fresh parsley and coriander to taste, minced
  • 3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Start by transferring the sardines to a small bowl. Carefully open each one down the belly and back with a small, sharp knife, removing the bones and tails.
  2. Move the sardines to a medium bowl and mash them with a fork until smooth.
  3. Add the cream cheese, onion, garlic, and herbs. Mix well until smooth.
  4. Incorporate the lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste, mixing until well combined.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and enjoy with vegetables or bread.

Note: You can also use a food processor for a smoother dip. I didn’t use one for the photos, and the result was still delicious.
