Brazilian Sardine Dip Recipe
This sardine dip is a tasty appetizer that goes well with raw vegetable crudites or your favorite bread. It’s sure to be a hit with your guests!
Ingredients:
- 1 3.5 ounces (100 grams) can of sardines, packed in oil, drained
- 5.3 ounces (150 grams) of cream cheese
- 1/4 cup of minced red onion
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- Fresh parsley and coriander to taste, minced
- 3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
- Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Start by transferring the sardines to a small bowl. Carefully open each one down the belly and back with a small, sharp knife, removing the bones and tails.
- Move the sardines to a medium bowl and mash them with a fork until smooth.
- Add the cream cheese, onion, garlic, and herbs. Mix well until smooth.
- Incorporate the lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste, mixing until well combined.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and enjoy with vegetables or bread.
Note: You can also use a food processor for a smoother dip. I didn’t use one for the photos, and the result was still delicious.
